The loom worked perfectly, as I knew it would, and everyone was impressed with how easy it was to operate and how the loom harnesses are controlled by the computer. I was delighted to show off the way this loom works. It is the most recent addition to my studio. Of course, I could not pass up the opportunity to finally get a photo of me weaving on "Sophie", since I had some willing photographers around.
By design, this was also the second Saori Weave Day held here. With everyone taking turns weaving on the Baby Wolf which I had warped and ready to go, we completed a small Saori style banner over the course of about 6 hours. It should be noted that the two new weavers had never woven on a four-harness loom before, and I must say, they took to it like bees to honey! And at the end of the day, we drew a name out of the jar and one lucky lady got to take the banner home. Here's the deal though: Since we all helped weave the banner that Michele got to take home, she must return next time and help weave the banner for someone else to take home. Seems only fair, right? :-)
Thank you, everyone, for making this day a very special day! Great energy, great people, great food, great weaving! Looking forward to the next time!
