Bye, bye September. This month went by so fast! It ended nicely here in central Texas, with some much needed rain. I have just finished choosing some yarns for October -- shades of white, off white, beige with touches of red, green and blue from the previous months. Hoping to finish out the year on this warp. With the weather turning a bit cooler I managed to plant some lettuce varieties, right before the rain, and the seeds have already sprouted! Also have some okra plants which may or may not produce before winter and some healthy looking herbs for the fall. This is a wonderful time of year -- nice to be able to open windows and let the breezes blow through the house. The hammock may come out this week as well! September is going to be all blues with small green accents from the previous month. At this stage of the weaving, it seems to be developing into a tidal wave of some sort, but that could change. Oddly enough, there is a commercial on the television right at this moment about some sealing rubber product and the Hoover Dam. Maybe it's all connected?!
"Piece of Cloth" Yes, yes, I know it's only the 17th of July, but I have finished the July tapestry diary. I just couldn't stop weaving once I got to the part with the Japanese calligraphy symbol, which means "Piece of Cloth". I wanted to see how it would look and whether or not I was even capable of weaving it into the piece. I really like the flow of this month's weaving. Love all the reds and just a little bit of sparkle. Having finished early, I now have a couple of weeks time to get the next warp ready and begin again August 1st. |
